A RECORD SCORE OF 375 RUNS AGAINST ENGLAND AT ANTIGUA IN 1994:
Brian Lara scored a brilliant 375 runs against England which was the World Record for the highest number of runs in one inning of a Test Match . He announced his presence on the International cricket scene by playing this belligerent knock against a World Class Team . He played some unbelievable shorts during that inning of 375 runs , although he got many chances and his many catches dropped during that inning but he made the most of the chances he got . He was seeing the ball as big as a football on that day . He smashed every bowler to every part of the ground with unbelievable courage and authority . His record of 375 runs was broken by Matthew Hayden of Australia against Zimbabwe .
HIGHEST SCORE IN A FIRST CLASS MATCH :
Brian Lara also holds the World Record of 501 Not out in a First Class match against Warwickshire in 1994 . He stayed at the wicket for so long and played some delightful shorts . Not only he charged the bowlers and played aggressive shots but showed a brilliant defensive technique as well , that innings was a masterpiece . He was sweetly timing the ball and his placement was excellent . He broke the record of Former Pakistani Test Cricketing Great Hanif Mohammad by scoring 501 Not out . It was a wonderful inning and the whole world appreciated him for his wonderful performance .
He scored 501 Not out in only 428 balls by hitting 62 boundaries and 10 huge sixes . He was unstoppable in that innings and became the worst nightmare for all the bowlers .
RECLAIMED THE WORLD RECORD BY SCORING 400 RUNS AGAINST ENGLAND AT ANTIGUA IN 2004 :
When Matthew Hayden broke his record of 375 runs by scoring 380 runs against Zimbabwe , Brian Lara's reputation was challenged and he said in one of his interview :
" I can still achieve the number one spot "
This statement was 3 innings before he made another World Record against England by scoring 400 runs and reclaimed his World Record . It is a big big achievement and he is still the record holder for hghest number of runs in one inning of a Test Match .
THE FIRST CRICKETER TO SCORE SEVEN TEST CENTURIES IN EIGHT INNINGS :
In 1994 he was at the peak of his career , he scored seven centuries in eight innings including 375 Against England and a blistering unbeaten knock of 501 against the County . These are massive scores and not in the reach of any average batsmen . You can't create such huge scores unless you are blessed with extra ordinary talent and great natural abilities .
At that Lara was smashing al the bowlers even the best . The hunger to score runs was there and he was playing some marvelous cricket at that time . It was not to easy to dismiss Brian Lara at that time , he was treating some very good and talented bowlers like an average bowler . He was full of self confidence at that time .
HIGHEST RUNS IN TEST CRICKET :
He is the highest runs getter in Test Cricket by scoring 11187 runs at the average of 54 runs . He is a number one batsmen at present . He achieved that record by breaking the record of Alan Border who scored 11174 runs . He is leading the list of highest runs getter which involves some huge names like Steve Waugh , Viv Richards , Jawed Miandiad and Sachin Tendulkar .
It is a big honor for Brian Lara to top the rankings of all the greats of the Cricketing World . Most of the players from all over the world rate him as the best batsmen of the present era . He is one of the most stylish batsmen of the present era . He said :
" Its an honor for me to be in the rankings of the finest Cricketers of all time "

He is the first Batsmen of West Indies to score 10 ,000 runs in ODI Cricket . It's a big achievement of Brian Lara . He is a brilliant ODI Batsmen as well . He scored heavily against the World Champions , that's shows the class and caliber of the player .

Brian Lara has the record of scoring 28 runs in a single over against Pieterson of South Africa . He played some brilliant shots . He charged the spinner and smashed him all over the place .
